Policy Agenda
The Arizona Business & Education Coalition policy objective is to achieve an exemplary education system for all. We advocate these policy priorities:
- Establishing dedicated and sustainable revenue streams for public pre-K-12 schools and higher education institutions that add to the current support levels.
- Enhancing funding allocations to support our most vulnerable students, specifically preschoolers and kindergartners, students from families with low income, and students who receive or should be assessed for special education services.
- Withdrawing reserves from the state’s rainy-day fund to fill in short-term funding gaps for critical human services, including P-20 education.
- Providing district and charter K-12 students curricular opportunities for career exploration, including work-force related experience for middle- and high-school students, and structured opportunities for post-secondary planning for high school students.
- Funding CTE programs from 9th grade as a minimum.
- Providing financial supports for public high school students to pursue dual-enrollment credits.
- Creating parity in regulations and reporting for all Arizona pre-K-12 education programs that receive state funding.
